Ganz klar Pop, der die Roots von Indie und ein bisschen Punk trägt, mit Farben um sich wirft und eine klare Message vermittelt – das erwartet uns auf der neuen EP von Alexander Grills Pop-Projekt Lex Candy. Einen überzeugenden Vorgeschmack liefert seine neue und erste Single "It´s Like Magic". Alexander Grill, unter anderem bekannt aus seiner musikalischen Vergangenheit in Death Before Digital oder seinem Tonstudio "Gartenhaus Records" ist kein ganz Unbekannter in der heimischen Musikszene. Sein neues Soloprojekt "Lex Candy" lässt mit zukünftigen Veröffentlichungen, die irgendwo zwischen drivigen Indie Pop Hymnen, emotionalen Power Pop Balladen und RnB angehauchtem Groove angesiedelt sind, auf Großes hoffen. DÜSTERE ZEIT "It's Like Magic" ist ein Good Vibes Song, geschrieben wie ein Gespräch zwischen zwei Liebenden. Nach düsterer Zeit mit übermäßigem Alkoholkonsum und toxischen Freundschaften erschuf Lex einen Song der genau das Gegenteil repräsentiert. Self Love, Sober sein, Clean leben und Positivität spiegeln Lex Candy und "It´s Like Magic" wieder. Genau wie die Musik überzeugt auch das zugehörige Video, ein farbenfroher Stimmungsmacher. Gee Tee, gegründet von Kel Mason, der die ersten (Demo-)Recordings zuhause mit Drumloop und 4-Track aufgenommen hat, bleibt zum Glück seiner Fans dem Lo-Fi-Spirit erneut treu. Der synth punk Rocker aus Sydney - Australien hat nämlich nochmals eine 7" EP rausgebracht. "Rock Phone" heißt das neue Meisterwerk. Inspiriert vom UK Punk der 70er/80er und Alternative der späten 80er/90er, beweisen Gee Tee mit den 3 Songs wieder einmal, dass ihnen in Sachen Lo-Fi Punk Rock keiner was vormachen kann. Gee Tees Musik ist weird, fetzig, fuzzy, lo-fi und der beste Beweis dafür, dass man kein teures Equipment und keine tausenden Effekte braucht um coole Musik selber zu machen! Obwohl wenn man sich die derzeitigen Preise der 4-Tracks ansieht könnte man anderer Meinung sein. Aber egal, Fakt ist, dass Gee Tees neue EP richtig rockt! VÖ: 20. Als würde man in einer Seifenblase durch seine Träume schweben. Tape Moon alias Michael Naphaegyi, veröffentlicht 2021 sein Debüt-Soloalbum „Absent“, welches er vollkommen in Eigenregie recorded & gemixt hat. Zwischen Fiebertraum und Alice´ Wunderland lässt man sich mit eingängigen Synthesizer Melodien durch das psychedelisch, poppig experimentelle Album leiten. Mal mit Gesang, mal ohne Gesang wird man mit den zehn Songs leicht nostalgisch in eine andere Welt transferiert. Wer auf den Sound von Bands wie Tame Impala, Mild High Club oder Ariel Pink steht, kommt an Tape Moon keineswegs vorbei. Deshalb definitiv eine Empfehlung von uns! Nailhead approved!
